i duplicate the pic and set it to multiply… i think… it’s very long ago that i work with gimp…

true true i was testing both ways today and i realised that the easy way doesnt look to good and it takes time in adjusting the right treshold…but i found my way of doing it..but i cant find a way to make the shadows i just put the opacity down..do you how to deal with shadows?

sorry i couldnt explain well..what i ment was you just have to duplicate the pic 3 times..and invert one and set it to dodge and merge them..then you use treshhold to make it look like cartoon and the last part is to erase the unwanted lines or shadow….and then color and change he background,,,and if you still dont understand i apologize cuz english is my seconf language..

what she meant was that after you got the path adapted you just click on stroke and that will give the path a solid line..but first you got to chose the brush size depending how thick or thin you want the line to be…

that’s tight..i wante to see the results, but there’s an easier way to do it and you will only require to color and erase some dots in the picture…i made my own cartoon you should do yours =D
